Rosamund Pike

Born in 1979 in London, England, actress Rosamund Mary Elizabeth Pike is the only child of a classically trained violinist's mother, Caroline (Friend), and a father of a singer, Julian Pike. Because of her parents' jobs, she spent her childhood travelling around Europe. Pike was a student at the Badminton School in Bristol, England and began acting at the National Youth Theatre. Pike first appeared in the National Youth Theatre production "Romeo and Juliet". She was then signed by an agent after she was spotted. Pike also began acting at the National Youth Theatre. The film she made her debut in was a huge-budget action thriller. But her subsequent films were mostly independent films like Promised Land (2004) and The Libertine (2004). For which she was awarded the award for Best Supporting Actress award in The British Independent Film Awards. Pride & Prejudice (2005) included Pike as one of the Bennet girls. A brief venture into Hollywood film was followed by the action flick, Doom (2005) as well as the thriller Fracture (2007) However, she returned to her smaller-scale films with her outstanding performances in three films: An Education (2009) Then Dagenham (2010), and An Education. Dagenham (2010) and the lead role alongside Paul Giamatti in Barney's Version (2010).As she continued her acting career in England, Pike appeared in the spy spoof, Johnny English Reborn (2011) and also played the role as "Andromeda" in the sci-fi epic, Wrath of the Titans (2012). Pike returned to action films as the main actress, playing Tom Cruise in Jack Reacher (2012).
