Sofia Margarita Vergara

Sofia Margarita Vergara (Spanish: born on July 10, 1972) is a Colombian-American actress as well as a television producer, presenter, and model. Vergara was the highest-paid actor on American television between 2013 and 2020. Vergara rose in prominence when she hosted two programs on Univision's Spanish-language television network in the mid-90s. Chasing Papi (2003) was Vergara's first significant acting gig in English. Later, she was seen in Four Brothers (2006) and Tyler Perry's comedy, Come to Jail (2008). She was nominated for an ALMA Award for the former. In 2009, she began playing Gloria Delgado-Pritchett in the ABC comedy series Modern Family for which she was nominated for four Golden Globe Awards, four Primetime Emmy Awards, and eleven Screen Actors Guild Awards.Vergara was also featured in the movies The Smurfs (2011), New Year's Eve (2011), The Three Stooges (2012), Machete Kills (2013), Fading Gigolo (2013) Chef (2014) as well as Hot Pursuit (2015). Vergara also voiced the characters in animated films Happy Feet Two (2011). Escape from Planet Earth (2013). and The Emoji Movie (2018). Vergara was also the highest-paid Hollywood actress in the year 2020. Vergara is a judge on America’s Got Talent since 2020. Vergara was born in Barranquilla by a Roman Catholic couple.  Her mother, Margarita Vergara de Vergara was a homemaker and her father, Julio Enrique Vergara Robayo was a rancher of cattle for the meat industry. Her nickname was "Toti" by her five siblings and many cousins. Vergara was originally a student at National University of Colombia in dentistry. She left after two semesters to pursue opportunities for modeling and show business.
