Paula Faris
Paula Faris is an American journalist
who was previously the TV correspondent for ABC News. She is famous for her
time as co-anchor of Good Morning America Weekend from 2014 to 2018 as well as
in her role as co-host on The View from 2015 to 2018. Before that she was
co-anchor of America This Morning (World News Now) as well as America This
Morning (America This Morning). After graduating, she worked in several
communications-related jobs including an operations position at Mills/James
Productions in Columbus, Ohio. Due to the limited opportunities on television,
she landed the position of a sales representative for radio. She was recruited
as a WKEF/WRGT production assistant. She later was promoted to anchor and
reporter. She was the anchor for weekends for WCPO TV in Cincinnati and the
anchor for weekdays at WCPO TV in Cincinnati from 2002 to 2005. She was a
sports reporter for the NBC's Chicago affiliate WMAQ-TV between November 2005
and December 2011, after her contract had expired. In December 2011, she was
recruited by ABC News the news division of ABC. She joined ABC News on World
News Now and America This Morning on January 2nd in 2012. She was also on Good
Morning America's fill-in show, Good Morning America, on January 2, 2012. In
the following years, she was promoted to New York-based correspondent for all
ABC News programs. She was host of America This Morning and World News Now's
final episode on January 22nd 2013. On August 9, 2014, she was announced as the
co-anchor for Good Morning America Weekend, following the departure of Bianna
Golodryga. The latter was transferred to Yahoo! News. On the 25th of August,
2015, ABC announced that she would join The View as a co-host for season 19. On
August 3, 2016, it was announced that they had renewed her contract for its
twentieth season. Season 21 also saw her renewed as co-host. In the 22nd and
21st seasons she mostly appeared during the show's Friday shows.
