Pom Klementieff

Pom Klementieff (born 3 May 1986) is a French actress from France. She studied at the Cours Florent drama academy in Paris. Her roles include Loup (2009) as well as Sleepless Night (2011). She is the Mantis character in the Marvel Cinematic Universe film Guardians of the Galaxy Vol. 2 (2017). Avengers: Infinity War (2018). Avengers: Endgame (2019). Pom Klementieff was born in Quebec City, Canada, to an Korean mother and French-Russian father, who was working there as a consul with the French government. Eugene Klementieff was her grandfather. Because it sounded similar to the Korean words for "spring" or "tiger" Her parents gave their daughter the name Pom. Klementieff was a citizen of Canada for a year. Her family had travelled extensively due to her father's job. After moving to France she lived in Japan. Klementieff's father, who died in the age of five from cancer was her mother. Additionally, she suffered from schizophrenia , and could not care for her kids. Klementieff was raised with her aunt and paternal uncle. Her uncle, whom she described as "like her father" died when she was 18 years old. The older brother of Klementieff who took his own life seven years later, was her aunt. Klementieff was able to pursue law school after the death of her uncle, but she didn't find the career choice attractive. She was also an waitress in France and a saleswoman. In the Cours Florent drama academy in Paris, she began acting at the age of 19. After finishing her studies and gaining an acting competition that gave her two years of free tuition with some of the top instructors at the school. Klementieff's first professional acting job was the French independent film Apres lui (2007), acting as the stepdaughter in the film of the main character, who was played by Catherine Deneuve. The filming process was a three-day process. In one scene, Klementieff was pushing someone down the set steps, and she fell. Gael Morel saved that scene for the film that was to be released. Her first leading role was in Loup (2009) which is a French film that follows a tribe of reindeer herders who live in the Siberian mountains. The film was shot in the middle of a camp located at a distance from the closest village. It was there that temperatures dropped to minus.
